Conformation Judge 2023 – Dominic Fortier
Dominic Fortier comes from St-Christophe d’Artabaska. Quebec. Mr. Fortier has been is an official judge for a couple of years now and has had the opportunity to judge several 4-H shows and open Holstein shows in Quebec and all-around Canada. Some of his more notable assignments have been the Ontario Summer Show, the showmanship competition of the TD 4-H Dairy Classic as well as the Quebec Spring Show. He also had the honour to judge internationally in Belgium, France, Ecuador and Brazil.
Mr. Fortier owns and operates Ferme Fortale, a 200-head Holstein operation with 80 milking cows.
The current herd classification is of 22 EX, 50 VG and 20 GP with a rolling herd average of 11,500 kg of milk.
Some of the animals, which have contributed to the success of the herd, are;
Fortale Stella Lindy EX 2E 11* – 2008 Cow of the Year, nominated All-Canadian
4 yr old in 1996 and nominated & All Canadian & All-American 5 yr old in 1997,
MS Goldwyn Alana EX-96 2E – Grand Champion at the National Spring Show in Fredericton, at the Quebec Spring Show and at the Supreme Laitier in Quebec in 2015. She also won the Reserve Grand Champion title at the RAWF that same year.
